Listen to Audiobooks#

Before you start, connect to Tailscale. Audiobookshelf does not load without it.

1. Create an Audiobookshelf account#

  1. On the Tailscale-connected device, open https://audiobookshelf.itachi.dev.
  2. Select Create Account or Sign Up, if registration is available.
  3. Choose a username and a strong password, then finish creating the account.
  4. Sign in with the new Audiobookshelf account.

Use a password that is different from your Plex password. If you do not see an account-creation option, or the site says that registration is closed, ask Harry to create or enable your account.

2. Listen to audiobooks#

  1. Browse or search the Audiobookshelf library.
  2. Open an audiobook and choose Play.
  3. Audiobookshelf saves your listening progress, so you can resume from another signed-in device.

Audiobook requests are separate from Seerr. Ask Harry directly if you are looking for an audiobook. Audiobooks are harder to find and curate than movies and shows, so requests may need more discussion before they can be added.

Troubleshooting#

  • Audiobookshelf does not load: Confirm Tailscale is connected. See Media.
  • Audiobookshelf loads but account creation is unavailable: Ask Harry to create or enable your Audiobookshelf account.
  • You forgot your Audiobookshelf password: Ask Harry for help rather than creating a second account.
  • You need an audiobook: Ask Harry directly. Audiobooks are not requested through Seerr.
